Behold, here is a beauty landing that eases the pains of precision! Magic Ink by Benefit is a a godsend for little me; it’s a jet-black, liquid eyeliner with a super-skinny applicator for precise lining. I wear black liner on my upper-lid religiously, so I have worn this every day over the long-weekend. It has a specially developed smudge-proof formula that glides right on and it managed to survive the harsh down-pours in Sydney! So far, so good! If you love the look of a classically lined upper-lid, then this is a perfect product; the ink is ultra-pigmented, resulting in a clean black line and the precision brush is perfect for achieving a very sleek outer wing!

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl rrp: $53

 I love beauty products: FACT. But once in a while a product comes along that sends me glass-of-champagne-giddy. So, it is with great pleasure that I am introducing you to Girl Meets Pearl, from our friends at Benefit. We just met, yesterday, actually. Pearl doesn’t arrive in stores until 8th September but I thought i’d give you readers a little preview, so you can snap her up when she hits counters.

GMP is a liquid pearl illuminator ideal for gliding over make-up, or may be worn alone providing a golden-pink dewy glow for cheekbones. You can mix it in with your foundation to give your skin  instant life; it seriously gives you the most exquisite glow. GMP offers the usual Benefit attractions; the packaging is a pop cultural hit (metallic pink tubing) and it has a luscious raspberry scent. Here we have another newbie from Benefit! POREfessional is a genius primer invention, specially designed to minimize the appearance of pores. It is slightly thicker than your average make-up primer, but still maintains that fabulous lightweight, silky texture. It works to diffuse the appearance of pores and fine lines to give you an ‘airbrush’ finish.  Pat on to areas that require pore-fecting and voila: you have the perfect make-up canvas!

On the subject of sweet treats, I am embarking on a strict juice cleanse in the next couple of weeks which will see me eliminating all sugary goods from my diet (review to follow). Instead I will have to get my beloved sugar-fix from these heavenly-sweet beauty products…here are my picks of the best:

At any time, you will find a Benefit ‘boxed’ powder in my handbag!  The packaging is super cute and they are ideal for popping on some colour to your cheeks: Sugarbomb is my latest fave.

MOR Marshmallow Triple-milled Soap rrp: $19.95

 I fell in love with MOR products when I tried their Marshmallow Eau de Parfum a few years back. Marshmallow offers a classic powdery, sweet and delectable candy-scent.

Caribbean Therapy Body Scrub by Aveda rrp: $59.95

Aveda’s Caribbean Body Scrub is the perfect solution for dry skin. Caribbean Cane Sugar is the hero element in this scrub and will leave your skin baby soft and conditioned. It has a delicious scent of  syrupy Caribbean coconut oil mixed with citrusy island aromas.

Burt's Bees Super Shiny Lipgloss in 'Sweet Pink' rrp: $17.95

Get lushious lips with Burt’s Bees Super Shiny Lip Gloss.  A 100% natural formula gloss which moisturises lips while providing a brilliant sheer colour gloss. L’Oreal Professional’s ‘Play Ball’ hair care range make hair-styling super fun. There is something for all hair types. I’ve used both the Curl Candy (A cherry candy flavoured curl defining gel cream) and Slick Caramel which is the equivalent of creme brulee for your hair (it works as a straightening cream to tame fly-aways).

Effervescent Revitilizing Sugar Cubes rrp: $4.95

 L’Occitane Effervescent Revitalizing Sugar Cubes give the body energy and vitality. Pop them in your bath and watch them dissolve in the water, these sugar cubes provide essential oils of mint, pine and rosemary.

Sweet Coconut Lip Butter rrp: $9.95

I’ve previously touched upon my love of the Spa Paradisa range and the Sweet Coconut Lip Butter is one of my faves. The sweet coconut scent reminds me of holidays and it’s a great little lifesaver for dry, sun damaged lips.

Marc Jacobs Biscotti rrp: $99

And finaaaallly, my last pick is the fabulous Marc Jacobs Biscotti scent from the 2010 Splash Collection. I sampled this at DJ’s the other weekend and was delighted with it’s charming and light nutty-vanilla scent. This one is Limited Edition so get in while you can!

Benefit have surpassed themselves  with their latest  ‘kit’ offering, which brings together a palette of their greatest products in a mini survival-esque box. When this arrived at my office last week the girls all squealed with delight when they saw  it! Slide off the peachy sleeve and you open up the concealaholic kit like a fairytale book, with pretty products lined up inside, a cute framed mirror and the promise of a happy ending! You litterally can’t wait to pick up the brushes and begin playing. 

So here’s a run down of what’s included:

Benefit Lemon Aid is a yellow cream that’s ideal for concealing upper lids and creates a smooth base for applying shadows.

Benefit Boi-ing is a miracle concealer! It has a dream texture and hides the most tired eyes (comes in two shades).

Benefit Eye Bright is a pink cream formula that brightens the area around your peepers.

Benefit Erase Paste is a super-pigmented concealer for hard-core cover-ups! Great for an emergency spot break-out!

And finally Benefit That Gal is a fabulous face primer for waking up fatigued skin.

In addition to this, there are two dual sided brushes that deserve a mention: they are labelled with what they are intended for so that you don’t have to worry about dipping in lemon aid with your boi-ing covered brush. Clever, So clever!
