Foundation: possibly one of the hardest things to get right.
I’ve long been on the hunt for the perfect shade and coverage. It’s a troublesome task with so many on the market: so far i’ve tried mattifiers, mousses, liquids and now sprays. It’s pretty difficult to endorse a foundation when speaking to an audience, as I think it’s one of the things in your make-up kit that is very personal to your skin-type. I do however, have two fabulous finds i’ve trialled recently, that I feel I can safely recommend. I think they’d work pretty well on most skin-types and they both provide a gorgeous, flawless finish.
The first of these is Aero Minerale Make-up Mist. Aero Minerale is a spray-on foundation which offers a light-medium coverage with hydrating aloe vera and chamomile. This is the first time i’ve tried a spray foundation and I have to say I was quite impressed. It works as a fine mist of micro-milled mineral pigments, with anti-oxidants and botanicals to help fight free radicals and protect your skin (yay!). The first time I tried it I think I sprayed a bit too close and it came out rather thick. After practise, I would say the trick is to just treat it like an Evian facial spray, gently close your eyes (don’t squint) and spray in a quick ‘S’ shape down the centre of your face – you don’t want to spray for more than 2 seconds. You can then blend with a sponge or foundation brush.
The second foundation that I am loving right now is Revlon PhotoReady Foundation, which literally gives you a completely smooth and flawless photo-perfect finish. PhotoReady is part of a range of new Revlon bases that are specifically designed to make you look better in photos. These products really work and provide a luminous honey-glow minus the use of Photoshop! Pure amazingness!
